After Eye Laser Procedure

Do
- Follow the clinic’s specific instructions.
- Use drops if prescribed.
- Keep follow-up appointments.
- Wear sunglasses if light-sensitive.
- Ask when normal activities can resume.
- Monitor symptoms after the procedure.
Don't
- Do not rub the eye.
- Do not press on the eye.
- Do not skip prescribed drops.
- Do not ignore sudden vision changes.
- Do not drive immediately if vision is blurry or the eye was dilated.
- Do not let the eye drop bottle tip touch your eyelashes, eyelids, eye surface, fingers, skin, or any surface. Touching the bottle tip can contaminate the drops.
Normal things you may notice
- Mild blurry vision
- Light sensitivity
- Mild discomfort
- Temporary floaters after some laser procedures
- Mild redness
Warning signs — contact the clinic urgently
- Sudden vision loss
- Severe eye pain
- Many new floaters
- New flashes of light
- Curtain or shadow in vision
- Increasing redness
- Water, soap, shampoo, or dirty water entered the eye and symptoms worsen
- Eye trauma, strong rubbing, or pressure to the eye
When to call the clinic
- If vision worsens suddenly.
- If severe pain develops.
- If flashes, floaters, or shadow appear.
- If redness or discomfort gets worse instead of better.
- If water or chemicals entered the eye and symptoms worsen.
- If the eye was rubbed strongly, bumped, pressed, or injured.
